On our second day in Hawaii, we made our way south along the west coast. With the massive amount of diversity on such a small island, it doesn’t take long to find yourself in a completely different biome! After about 40 minutes of driving on the scenic highway, we went from the Kona desert to a complete rainforest. The plants are amazing there! Most house plants in our regular life are found in the wild, and 10x the size. There are wild chickens and pigs roaming in that area, but nothing larger than that. Our second night was spent in the jungle, where the overwhelming sounds of common coqui frogs eventually put us to sleep.
Our ocean views there were beautiful, and as far as the eye can see is lush green mountains along the coast and water. So. Much. Water.
