Yesterday we spent the day with our new roomies touring the island. We drove to Wailuku, which is the main city on Maui, to get some food and snacks before driving to a beach on the south side of the island. Our friends names are Shaylie and Sarah. Shaylie is from Minnisota, and Sarah is from Ohio!
We arrived at “Big Beach” in the early afternoon, and hung out on the sand for a few hours. The waves were pretty good, but they were breaking right at the shore so surfing wasn’t an option. There were people with boogie boards doing tricks though, so we watched them have fun and wipe out lots. We all went for a swim in the turquoise water. The waves were fun to float over, and the water was so clear and warm. We will definitely be going back!
Once we were done there, we got shave ice, which is basically a snow-cone with some ice cream. I got one with lychee, strawberry and orange flavours and Mike got a coconut flavour.
Then we stopped at the grocery store and bought frozen pizzas to eat later. The drive was so pretty on the way home! The sun was setting as we drove down the road to Hana.
When we got home we watched Happy Gilmore and ate our pizzas. Then we all went to bed around 9 because everyone wakes up early!
This morning we found a friend in our dishwasher…
