Today we drove up to the ‘Iao Valley, a beautiful area between some mountains. There were tons of beautiful views. We hiked a short trail through the forest along the stream running through the valley, until it ended at a stunning open area of riverbed and rocks. If anyone reading has been to Ram Falls, you’d feel right at home where we were 🙂

After we got back to the road, we ate a big lunch in Kahului at a local restaurant. Then we drove up to Lahaina for another beach day!

We chose Black Rock Beach today, which has high volcanic rocks and deep clear water. This makes it a great place for amateur cliff jumping. Don’t worry though, we only jumped off the very shortest ledges!

The whole Lahaina area is packed with resorts, so parking was hard to find. We had a long walk from the car to our spot, but the beach and weather were so nice that we didn’t mind. The water was calm, with plenty of crabs and colourful fish to see. We even had a couple of sea turtles come say hello!
It was a great day filled with plenty of beautiful sights. We were all very tired when we got home, so tired that Sarah almost stepped on the dead bird that Flash (our cat) left in the hallway! We scolded him for a bit, but it’s hard to stay mad at him for long. He’s just so cute!
Thanks for reading, see you next time!
